DRC rowers put on a show at Berry Park

Published Wed 23 Feb 2022

Thank you to all those that took part, helped organise, loaded and unloaded boats, put the marquees up and generally did DRC proud at the dual regattas on the Hunter River last weekend.

We came away with a swag of medals and placings across the 2 days including some epic battles between club mates, particularly the W4X, W8+ and the MMix2X’s.

While the conditions on Saturday were quite poor, they improved for the Sunday races with only the odd bit of debris making its way down the course and with the change of tide, up the course later in the day.

Congratulations to everyone who made the trip to represent DRC.

Next weekend we have the Leichhardt Regatta on Iron Cove on Sunday then the Sydney Rowing Club Regatta the following weekend at SIRC.

We are wanting to see as many entries as possible for these regattas. The week after the Sydney Regatta is the Australian Championships at SIRC where we have a number of members competing. We wish them great racing for their events.

After the Australian Championships we have a couple of Iron Cove regattas then the Ed Trickett Grade Championships prior to the State Masters Championships in Grafton and then the Australian Master Championships in Ballarat. It’s well worth the experience

Let’s make a sprint to the finish with club representation at these regattas.

Trailer Trivia

Ever wondered just how long the Rowing Trailer and towing vehicle is:

Here are some pictures that give you an idea with a full size semi trailer as a reference.
